The Oostenburger island was built in the 17th century by the Dutch East India Company with the purpose of housing shipyards and warehouses. In an old steam engine factory built there in the early 19th century, Yays Oostenburgergracht now offers 43 apartments just east of the old city centre. In the apartments you can find different pictures of photographer Ilya Rabinovich, who was assigned to photograph the STORK terrain in 2000 (STORK terrain project 2000).
